What is Rock-A-Thon?

The Cause
Rock-A-Thon is an extensive philanthropic effort coordinated by the men of Alpha Epsilon Pi benefiting the American Cancer Society.  In an effort to aid in the fight against cancer and to furnish further medical research in the field, net proceeds are donated in their entirety.

Event Description
Considered the chapter's highest honor, a designated brother of the fraternity is elected to serve as the official rocker.  As rocker, said member is required to sit in a rocking chair for 63 consecutive hours while the brotherhood of the fraternity solicits support and donations from the citizens of Columbia and surrounding communities.  Support is also garnered  through both corporate sponsorship and online donations.  The goal of Rock-A-Thon 2005 has been set at $25,000.

Past Accomplishments
Combined, the past four Rock-A-Thons have produced an overwhelming total of $120,000 in monetary donation directly benefiting the American Cancer Society of Mid-Missouri.  As a result of unprecedented support from the community and corporate sponsors, Rock-A-Thon is the single largest fraternal philanthropy nationwide.  The brotherhood of Alpha Epsilon Pi donates well over 2500 hours to the cause of planning and producing Rock-A-Thon.
